I was wondering when it is advised to take recovery weeks. I noticed that there are recovery weeks built into the Ballet Body systems but not the Iron Barre. Are recovery weeks not needed when following the Iron Barre training?
Thanks!

Recovery weeks are not always necessary especially with life getting in the way- some weeks we take off a training day because illness, work, or just busy schedules, so you may end up not working out at all for 5 days at a time. Some weeks we train a little lighter depending on our energy too so in a way it is a recovery week. I just encourage adding yoga and stretching and listening to your body. If you are low energy, take it easy in your workout. Serious power lifters, olympic/professional athletes, or anyone who trains to more extreme levels need recovery weeks. If you are someone who works out 6 days a week and doesn't miss a workout and has a hard time scaling back when your body is tired, a recovery week would be a good idea. With the Ballet Body Training systems, the recovery weeks can be useful in preventing overuse injuries and plateau because the movement patterns are very similar and repetitive- even though I offer a lot of variety with barre exercises. With Iron Barre blue prints, there is more variety in exercise selection, training intensities, and movement patterns. Morever, the Iron Barre blue prints only consist of three day a week programs instead of 5, so there are more rest days included.
