Greetings!!

I am new to Ballet Body and wondering what system would be best for me to start with. I will be 55 years old on Thursday and not new to exercise or to weight training, That being said I have not lifted in over a year, mainly doing high rep/low weight workouts. I am carrying about 15 extra pounds that I would love to be rid of while gaining lean muscle. My core strength is lacking also.

I am open to all recommendations and I cannot wait to get started!!

Thanks so much for sharing your post! I'm thrilled you are here and would love to help you. As we age, we lose muscle mass naturally, which will decrease our metabolism and consequently this leads to weight gain. Resistance training though prevents muscle mass loss and increases metabolism. Resistance training will help with the 15 lbs. you would like to lose plus provide many other benefits. I recommend resistance training with moderate to heavier weights to achieve the benefits. A great place to start is the Express blue print. Once you are ready for more than 35 minutes 3 x a week, progressing to the Elite blueprint program would be ideal. Core strength training is addressed in both programs. Let me know if you have any other questions!
